It's springtime in West Texas. So you know what that means: thunderstorms. Well, tonight we had tornado and thunderstorm warnings. I think there may have been a few nearby funnel clouds, and some tornadoes that briefly touched down a few counties away. But thankfully, things weren't too bad.
It did hail, however. And I got photographic evidence.

Here we have the sidewalk right outside my apartment.

And here's a closer look at the ice pebbles.

And just for size comparison... I guess I'd say that's dime-sized hail. If not nickel-sized. No wonder these things damage car windshields. They can be quite dangerous.
Things seem to have quieted down in the last hour or so. Lubbock got some more rain with the storms, so hopefully that will help make it less dusty and more green! :)

Wow! That's crazy, Eileen! We've been having high winds, some even hurricane force. I rode my bike home on Tuesday evening and was exhausted. It took me an extra 10 minutes! haha. Oh well!
That was pretty crazy last night. There were some big hail stones. I tried to get a couple pictures of the hail and the flooding street but mostly we were concerned about the flooding house. Okay so it was just leaking in three places not actually flooding but it was still a pain.
Cool Photos Eileen! How did the Previa do through the storm???
Did the "wind begin to blow, oh ho, oh no....."
