Eggeriffic

I have officially finished my first year of my masters. It's kinda crazy how fast the time went by (especially during the second semester). Now it's time to enjoy summer. Summer has kicked off to a great start already. I've enjoyed playing ultimate frisbee and just goofing off with friends so far. Next week I leave for California where I'll get to spend some awesome time with my family. I'm excited!

So yesterday my roommate and I dyed Easter eggs. Technically, it wasn't too late to do it because it's still the Easter season. Things were a bit chaotic during the actual Easter week, so I didn't get around to it til now. Hopefully the Easter bunny will not mind! It was a fun adventure. Here are some pictures:

Here's Rita looking excited to be dyeing the eggs!

Ooh! It turned orange!

I'd say we were pretty successful. Pretty colors!

Once we were done, Rita started mixing the colors. Now who does that remind you of?

In other news, I finally got my housing situation figured out for next year. I am going to be living with two awesome friends that I've met through the church community. It is great because I am living in the same room next year, so I don't have to move my stuff this year. Woohoo! I will definitely not miss the annual packing up of everything in the room. Our place is going to be very homey. I can imagine us all cooking meals together and bonding over episodes of "Gilmore Girls" or "The Office." It should be fun!

The best thing about the whole situation is that the whole time I tried to put it in God's hands. I kept praying that it would work out the way God wanted it to. And when I did that, it may have taken awhile, but it worked out easily. It was almost ridiculous how easily it worked out. I hope that I can have that kind of trust for other worries (aka what will I be doing in the future...) in life.

In closing, I leave with one of my favorite graduation quotes in honor of my friends who are graduating tomorrow:

"And even if we were occupied
With most important things,
If we attain to honor
Or fall into great misfortune --
Still let us always remember
How good it all was once here,
When we were all together,
United by a good and kind feeling,
which made us, for a time,
Better perhaps than we are..."

-Fyodor Dostoevsky, The Brothers Karamazov
