Two papers and two finals separate me from being done with my first semester of grad school. woo! The past semester has been a fun ride, and it's amazing how far I've come. I think it hit me yesterday when I went to mass for the holy day. It was only the third time I sat out with the congregation, cause they didn't have music, so I wasn't sitting up front with the choir. Anyways, it reminded me of the first time I attended mass at St. E's. I was really nervous and didn't know anyone. But yesterday, I recognized so many faces. I'm so blessed to belong to this awesome community that has welcomed me with open arms this past semester.
Although I have been mostly productive these past few days, I've also been having fun, too. On Thursday night I went over to Dr. Griffee and Dr. Gorsuch's house. It was really fun to see everyone there, and there was so much internationl cuisine there, it was great! We tried to get a game of mafia started, but we only got through one round. It's funny to see people's reactions to the game, especially once they realize it involves "killing" people. That seems so normal for people who have played the game before, but the new-comers are like "really? you kill people?" haha, good times.
Then after the dinner, I went over to the church for "breakfast." The good ol' Knights of Columbus made us pancakes, eggs, and bacon. mmm. Breakfast food really is the best. It was awesome just to hang out and see so many fun people.
Tonight I look forward to seeing more folk at Kandis and Angela's graduation get-together. :)
Merry advent, everyone!
