Some t-shirts I've seen around campus...

On any campus you would expect to find college students wearing t-shirts. Most of these shirts have some kind of message they wish to portray. For example, one may express loyalty to their university, while others make a statement about a particular club or fraternity, etc. As I've been walking around campus these past few weeks, I can't help but notice the shirts I've seen.

First one: "Kiss me I'm a Red Raider"
Now, not quite as catchy as the shirt seen all over at ND "Kiss me I'm Irish," but you can appreciate the general sentiment.

Second: "Keep Lubbock Normal"
I had absolutely no idea what this was supposed to mean. But after a bit of googling, I realized that there is a "Keep Austin Weird" shirt, and this stems in response to this. I'm not quite sure how Austin is weird, but this proud wearer of the shirt apparently liked keeping Lubbock normal. As an outside observer, I'd say Lubbock is very normal in the "it's a small city in the middle of nowhere" type of way. Maybe it could use some weirdness (everyone keeps telling me how cool Austin is, so the weirdness must be good for something).

Third: "I've Survived Lubbock winds"
Apparently it's more windy here than it is in Chicago. All I can say about this shirt is that I hope to be a survivor! After all, what can be worse than being attacked by winds and carried all the way to another "middle of nowhere"? At least the winds come from Canada, so they are cultural winds, albeit, cold cultural winds.

I'll update this more later...

So I'm gonna be a total dork and comment on my own post before anyone else does. :P

I saw another cool t-shirt that I wanted to share:
"You can't spell COTTON without TT"

Now that's creativity, folks. Since Lubbock produces an absurd amount of the nation's cotton, it only seems fitting to connect that with the university that calls Lubbock its home.
