Life Update

Can you believe there's actually a new post? I know, I know, it's been awhile. I kept having ideas on things to write, but never got to the point to write them down. But here I am.

It's spring break in Tallahassee, which may be one of the reasons I'm writing. I've actually had time to reflect on some things the past few days. I've also had a chance to go to daily mass this week and spend some more time in prayer. Today, for instance, I went to the 35th Annual Red Mass where all the bishops from Florida gather together to pray for the people in the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of the state government. The church was completely packed (I was stuck in the last pew) and everyone was dressed all fancy. During the mass, the congregation's responses rang out. Combine that with some great organ music and incense, and I felt like I was back at the Basilica at Notre Dame. My time in prayer today also gave me much joy. I know we all have times where we feel stronger and weaker in our faith. I am thankful for spring break, which conveniently falls during Lent, for the opportunity to grow stronger in faith and stronger in love for my faith.

Changing topics, one of my friends posted this on her facebook profile. I immediately recognized it as being from "Chicken Soup for the Soul". It gives some ageless advice that I think we all need to be reminded of. Enjoy.

Not to call you out or anything Leener, but I don't think that song was actually in Chicken Soup for the Soul. I remember when it came out a while back that the lyrics were from a newspaper article about the commencement address the person who wrote it would give if they had the chance. I don't know tho, I never read Chicken Soup for the Soul. Surprising, eh?

Anyway, so glad to see you posting again! I need to revive my own spirit for blogging as well. Have a rocking day Eileen! Everybody loves you!
