I'm still not sure what happened to October. One day it was here, but now it is past. Craziness. I guess that just goes to show how busy things have been around here.
But even with all the busyness, I have still had time to learn more about this Texas culture I am living in.
First, there's a difference between shooting and hunting. They both involve a gun, so I just assumed they'd be the same thing. Apparently not. Shooting involves a gun and non-living objects. Hunting, however, involves a gun and hopefully-soon non-living objects. Honestly, I'm not sure that either sound that appealing, but if I had to do one, I'd start with shooting.
Second, there's a difference between farmers and cowboys. Now, I presumed that since farmers are from the country, that you could classify them as cowboys here in Texas. But nope, they are different. By the way, I found this out by asking one of my church friends if he owned a cowboy hat. He doesn't, and thus, I got a lecture about the differences between farmers and cowboys.
I feel like this blog entry should have the "The More You Know" ending to it. You know, like the NBC commercials.
Two more crazy weeks of school before I go home for Thanksgiving. I'm super excited for our free-range turkey meal. And, of course, for seeing the family! It's been too long...
