If at first you don't succeed, don't try sky diving...

Earlier this month I went to St. Louis to visit some Notre Dame friends. I had an awesome trip. It was one of those things where I knew I missed my friends, but I didn't quite realize just how much I missed them til we were all together. All it took was a "there was a car on fire?!" or a "snapple-o!" before I laughed so hard that my side literally hurt. College friends are great like that.

During the trip, we all drove to the Lake of the Ozarks where Jonny's family owns two lake cabins. It was the perfect place to go to avoid the heat and humidity. We went out in Jonny's boat, where we could go water skiing and tubing. First, let me say that dramamine is a wonderful drug. Rocking up and down on the boat can make me sea sick, but one dramamine later, I was a-ok. And then second, I was a little wary about water skiing because I saw my friends take what I presumed were really hard falls. But my friends convinced me it didn't hurt, so I gave it a try. I'm so glad I did - it was lots of fun! Let me show you some pictures:

This is me trying to stand up for one of the first times. It looks very promising, but then this would happen...

I got some water up my nose, which is really never enjoyable, but that didn't stop me from getting back up and trying again.

This picture officially shows my first successful trip. Once I was able to maintain my balance, I stayed up for at least 30 seconds. So much fun!

Another exciting adventure of the trip included a baseball game at Busch Stadium where I got to see my ex-Angels face the Dodgers. I was actually rooting for the Cardinals, but they ended up losing 2-1 in a pitching duel. The new stadium was beautiful, however, and I loved how the arch overlooked center field. Here's a picture:

Overall, the trip was amazing. I do hope we can make it work out that we see each other at least once a year. Someone needs to get married so we can ensure a reunion...

And now I'm back in Lubbock. This past week I enjoyed catching up on some Harry Potter movies with Alex, playing Spider with some CSA kids, and helping Kat move in! Things are well. :)
