Running goal

I've decided to set a running goal for the month of November. My goal is to run 40 miles. I figure this is about 10 miles a week, which is completely doable. If I only run 2 miles at a time, I can still take off two days a week. I'm hoping that as I get stronger, I'll be able to run 4 miles at once, which would give me more flexibility if things start getting busier.

In the past, the most I've ran (that I've tracked on my iPod Touch) is 25 miles in one month. Usually, the trend is for me to get motivated and get in a few good runs for a week or two, but then slack off as I inevitably have extra grading, dissertation work, etc. That's why this time I want to put the goal in writing, and hold myself accountable by mentioning it on Facebook and on my blog. Being held accountable always seems to help with motivation!

Lastly, when I do run 40 miles, I will be able to eat more at Thanksgiving! yum yum yum :)
