I officially survived my first week in Lubbock. It feels good to have things mostly settled in my room (it actually looks like a recognizable room, instead of just a place cluttered with plastic bags). Tomorrow is the first day of class. I actually do not have any graduate classes on Mondays, only the two classes that I'm a TA for. Although I'm a little nervous about how the classes will go, I'm reminded that all teachers must begin somewhere, so I should just jump in and enjoy the ride. I wrote out my schedule in my day planner, I have my clothes picked out for tomorrow, and I even perused the texts we'll be using in the courses. Now all I need is a prayer for strength, and then I think I'm ready.
Such is the life of the applied linguist.

P.S. My verification word is "ouqaoo." That's awesome.
